A unique church of ice was built in mid December in the area of Hrebienok. It is made of real ice and is really big - 12 x 18 m. Almost 28 tonnes of ice were used to make it. It was built by František Bálek, a popular Czech sculptor famous for original sculptures made of non-traditional materials. The church of ice was given a special cupola-like roof that should protect it from vagaries of winter weather.
